Course description
ITCAM for Response Time 6.2 (ITCAM RT) is an application monitoring tool that provides the capabilities to comprehensively monitor, alert and report on the availability and response time of customer business applications. Applications may range from very simple desktop clients to complex distributed composite web applications.
In this course, students learn the product's features, how it fits in the overall ITCAM family, how to install and configure, and how to monitor applications. This workshop features extensive hands-on lab exercises.
Audience
This course targets implementers and administrators of IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Response Time.
Pre-requisites
Required Skills/Knowledge
ITCAM RT 6.2 uses IBM Tivoli Monitoring's Tivoli Enterprise Portal, so users would benefit
from a knowledge of ITM and the TEP.
You should also have the following knowledge and skills:
· General knowledge of server hardware
· Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles
· Working knowledge of system administration of UNIX, Windows or Linux operating systems
· Working knowledge of relational databases
· Working knowledge of ITM v6.1 installation, configuration, and administration
· General knowledge of application monitoring and the applications to be monitored
Objective
After completing this course, students should be able to accomplish the following:
· Describe ITCAM for RT and its role in monitoring composite applications
· Describe the architecture, components, and features of ITCAM RT 6.2
· Install each of the IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Response Time TEMAs
